From February 17 to 21, 2025, the Abu Dhabi International Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2025), one of the world's premier defense industry events, was successfully held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in the UAE. As the largest and most influential defense technology exchange platform in the Middle East, this year's exhibition attracted over 1,560 exhibitors from 65 countries and more than 150,000 professional visitors. Exciting News! Ningbo FLK's Technology Project Wins Industry Progress Award
Ningbo FLK has achieved significant recognition in mechanical sealing technology! The company's project, "Key Technologies and Applications of High-Performance Mechanical Sealing Materials and Devices," has been awarded First Prize in the 2021 Industry Technology Progress Awards by the China Hydraulic Pneumatic Sealing Industry Association. This breakthrough has successfully disrupted foreign dominance in oil drilling mechanical sealing systems, with the technology now demonstrated on drilling platforms operated by CNOOC, CNPC, and Sinopec, earning positive feedback from the industry. The project was jointly submitted by Ningbo FLK, the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering of CAS, Tsinghua University, and Beijing JJSC Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. Exciting News! Ningbo FLK Successfully Delivers Its First Semiconductor Core Component
On September 8, Ningbo FLK officially delivered its latest high-purity silicon carbide fluidized bed high-temperature structural component for semiconductor applications, developed using advanced 3D printing technology, at the FLK Innovation Building. During the project results report meeting, FLK engaged in in-depth discussions with Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Group regarding the research and development progress of the project. FLK was responsible for overcoming technical challenges in raw material preparation, production equipment development, component manufacturing, and product purification. This effort successfully led to the domestication of high-purity silicon carbide fluidized bed components, eliminating the need for molds, pressing, casting, or machining, thereby reducing contamination risks during production. Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Group, the world’s largest granular polysilicon producer, contributed expertise in component structure design, testing methods and standards, operational parameter determination, and online validation. After over a year of intensive efforts, the high-purity silicon carbide fluidized bed components fully met project technical requirements. Compared to foreign imports, the production cost was reduced by over 50%, delivery times were shortened by more than two-thirds, and the product quality surpassed U.S. imports. The easy replication and rapid manufacturing capabilities of 3D printing further boosted production efficiency, enabling import substitution and overcoming critical technological bottlenecks. At the delivery ceremony, Chairman and General Manager Wu Guoping of Ningbo FLK shook hands with the General Manager of Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Group, marking a significant milestone in semiconductor innovation. This achievement showcases China’s growing expertise in high-performance materials, reinforcing FLK’s leadership in cutting-edge technological advancements.

Congratulations to our company for being approved as a provincial enterprise research institute
Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the list of newly recognized provincial enterprise research institutes in 2022. Our company was approved to establish Zhejiang FLK Special Ceramics Enterprise Research Institute. As of now, our company owns two national-level R&D platforms: a National Demonstration Academician Workstation and a National Postdoctoral Workstation; two provincial-level R&D platforms: a Provincial Enterprise Research Institute and a Provincial Research Center. We have undertaken over ten national and provincial-level R&D projects, obtained more than 30 invention patents, and led or participated in the drafting and formulation of 15 national and industry standards. Recently, our company's "High-purity granular silicon fluidized bed 3D printing silicon carbide reactor lining FBR-L940-8750" was recommended by Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology, and successfully passed the certification of the first (set) product in 2022 organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economic and Information Technology. It was selected as the first (set) product at the national level. The National Key R&D Plan "Demonstration Application of Key Technologies for High Parameter Mechanical Seals of Multiphase Medium" project successfully passed the technical review of the expert group
On the morning of November 22, the technical review meeting for the "Key Technology Demonstration and Application of High-Parameter Mechanical Seals in Multiphase Media" project under the National Key Research and Development Program was grandly held at the Ningbo Kai Zhou Hotel. Six experts and professors from Harbin Engineering University, Beihang University, and other institutions conducted the technical review of this project. Seventeen members from the project team, including those from Fei General Machinery Research Institute, Tsinghua University, Zhongmi Holding, and our company, participated in the review presentation. The project team reported on the application of prototype ultra-high speed dry gas sealing and mixed phase medium mechanical sealing products, and the high precision manufacturing technology of key components of ultra-high speed dry gas sealing. After the expert inquiry and discussion, the project of "demonstration application of key technologies of multi-phase medium high parameter mechanical sealing parts" passed the technical review. This project addresses the significant demand for high-parameter mechanical seals in multiphase media from fields such as petrochemicals, coal chemicals, and marine engineering. It focuses on research into ultra-high-speed dry gas sealing and mixed-phase medium mechanical (face) sealing design, key manufacturing processes, testing, and industrial applications. The aim is to break through complex conditions of non-steady-state variable loads in multiphase media, including gas film stability and mixed-phase lubrication film formation mechanisms, optimization of seal structure design, high-precision manufacturing technology for critical components, surface film modification, intelligent monitoring, and extreme condition testing. The project will develop ultra-high-speed dry gas sealing and high-parameter mechanical seals for mixed-phase media, with the goal of achieving demonstrative applications in petrochemicals, coal chemicals, and marine engineering.

We are officially upgraded to a national postdoctoral workstation
With the support of the leaders of the Ningbo Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, our provincial postdoctoral workstation was successfully upgraded to a national postdoctoral workstation, and Director Xu personally awarded the plaque to our company. FLK won the first prize of Anhui Province Science and Technology Progress Award
The "Key Techniques and Engineering Applications of New High-End Pump Mechanical Seal" project jointly completed by our company, Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Dandong Cloning Group won the first prize of the Anhui Science and Technology Progress Award. Our company won the third prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Award in 2022
The project "Key Technologies and Industrial Application of Ultra-high Pressure Mechanical Seal in Complex Drilling and Well Completion Conditions" jointly completed by our company, Ningbo Institute of Materials Science and Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Jieshiji was awarded the third prize of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2022. The project has developed a new balanced floating structure mechanical sealing pipe assembly, breaking through the key technologies of toughening and wear resistance of mechanical seal end surface materials, and solving the technical problems of ultra-high pressure drilling and completion in complex working conditions. It has been successfully applied to deep wells in the Kalim, Sichuan, and Ordos Basins and shale oil and gas drilling and completion. It has the remarkable characteristics of easy installation and maintenance, high pressure resistance and long life, which greatly reduces the labor intensity of people and greatly improves the drilling and completion operation efficiency and safety. FLK's advanced ceramic product helped Shenzhou 12 to return home At 13:34 Beijing time on September 17, after three months in space, Shenzhou XII manned return capsule landed smoothly at the Dongfeng landing site, and the astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Booming and Tang Hongbo who performed the mission safely and successfully exited the capsule, making the first manned mission in the space station phase a complete success. FLK's high-performance special ceramic materials and components were used in the key systems of deep space exploration equipment, and FLK's product helped to guide the manned spacecraft and precisely guided the Shenzhou-12 return capsule to land, ensuring the astronauts' safe return home. FLK's large size high-end silicon carbide ceramic seal ring with independent intellectual property rights has the characteristics of large size, high toughness, wear resistance and long life, which has been appraised by China Machinery Industry Federation and the overall technology of the achievement has reached the advanced level. Congratulations on the successful liftoff of Chang'e-5!
FLK helps the lunar exploration project with technological innovation and high quality products! At 4:30 on November 24, the Long March 5 remote five carrier rocket carrying the Chang'e 5 probe pulled up and flew to the moon, opening the curtain of China's first unmanned lunar sampling return mission. Chang'e 5 mission is the sixth mission of China's lunar exploration project, which is one of the most complex and difficult tasks in China's space field so far. In such a major mission, the high-end large-size ceramic seal ring produced by our company and the high-performance fully enclosed internal circulation mechanical seal system designed by our company, as the only core key equipment connecting the dynamic and static cooling pipeline, were applied to the large radar constituting the deep space measurement and control network, which significantly improved the data reception capability, detection distance and reception sensitivity, and provided strong measurement and control support for this Chang'e 5 mission and the lunar exploration project. The project of "Development of high-end ceramic materials and sealing rings and their application in large active phased array radar", jointly completed by our company, the 14th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, Tsinghua University and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute Co. The project has made significant innovations and breakthroughs in many key technologies, such as the design/sintering technology of high-end reinforced toughened ceramic materials, the manufacturing/high-precision processing technology of oversized ceramic seal rings, and the design/manufacturing technology of fully enclosed internal circulation mechanical seal system. For the first time, we have developed high-end ceramic seal ring products of 500mm size and mechanical seal system with a flow rate of 400m3/h, which successfully solved the problems faced by traditional mechanical seal systems such as cooling of megawatt-level heat consumption, high load operation, low reliability under extreme harsh environment and short service life. From China Electronics Technology Group was informed that the application of the project's innovative technology and products of the deep space antenna array system, will provide solid measurement and control and communication technology guarantee for Chang'e 5 mission, 100% full protection of the lunar exploration project mission.

The First Postdoctoral Students at FLK Successfully Passed
On the afternoon of September 10, 2020, the meeting of concluding report from the first members of postdoctoral students jointly trained by Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering under Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ningbo FLK Technology Co., Ltd. were held in the conference room of the newly completed science and technology building of Ningbo FLK. The experts team, including Tan Shouhong, researcher of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics under Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangnan and Li He researchers of Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering under Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zheng Shunqi, researcher of 52 Institute of China North Industries Group, and Xie Fangmin, senior engineer of Ningbo FLK Technology Co., Ltd., acknowledged the achievements made by the two postdoctors, Guo Daidong and Cai Ningning, during their work at the center.
